JENNIE LINDEN won a Scholarship at 16 years of age to the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, where she studied and gained a teaching degree in Drama. Her early experience as an actress included work with Ian McKellen's Company at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, and the Bristol Old Vic. While performing in The Cherry Orchard, she was invited to appear in the West End Comedy Never Too Late with Fred Clark, Joan Bennett and Evelyn Laye.
With her name in lights and successful reviews, Jennie went on to star in many West End plays. Among those she treasures are Thark, a Ben Travers farce, with Alec McCowan, On Approval, with Geraldine McEwan, My Fat Friend with Kenneth Williams and Hedda Gabler with Glenda Jackson. Jennie completed a world tour of Hedda Gabler, and made a film in which she was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Mrs Elvstead.
Jennie has starred in a great deal of TV and film work spanning three decades, including popular series' such as The Saint, The Avengers, Black Beauty, Lytton's Diary, Home James Home, and Tales of the Unexpected. More recently she will be remembered for her parts in The Practice, Lovejoy, Chancer and Trainer. In the film Women in Love by DH Lawrence, also starring Alan Bates and Glenda Jackson, she was nominated for two Academy Awards. She has worked with, and figured among, some of the greatest personalities in her profession.
